Obituary of Keith Meredith
MEREDITH: Keith -
May 2, 1931 - October 7, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye for now to Duncan Keith Meredith. After living a full 90 years of life, Keith passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 7, 2021. Keith was born in Chatham Ontario to parents Hugh and Jean Meredith. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years Donna (Smith) Meredith (2018). Also predeceased by infant daughter Deborah Ann, brother Milton Meredith and sister Marilyn Greenslade. Keith is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Keith’s memory will be cherished by his son Brent Meredith (late Sheila) of Belle River and daughter Denise Jennings (husband Dwayne) of Waterloo. Keith was a wonderful grandfather to Mitchell Jennings (fiancé Rachelle), the late Iain Jennings (2013), Morgan Meredith and Lindsay Meredith.
Keith will be well remembered for his faith and integrity, calm and supportive demeanour, willingness to help, gentlemanly charm, big hugs and firm handshakes.
Keith was a dedicated senior manager in the automotive industry, both in Canada and the United States. He earned respect and success through fairness, negotiation, hard work, and humility.
Keith pursued a talent for restoring antique and classic cars and brought many a rust bucket back to its original beauty. Similarly, he excelled at restoring outdated homes and rundown bikes.
Throughout all of his life, the kind and charming Keith gathered life long friends from far and wide, including Chatham and Windsor Ontario, Spring Lake and Fort Gratiot Michigan, and in his beloved retirement community in Fort Myers Florida. Keith and Donna spent 30+ wonderful years in Fort Myers where Keith enjoyed friendship and lively competition in a variety of pastimes, including golf.
Although we are saddened by Keith’s passing, we are also grateful that he enjoyed a long, happy, healthy and productive life.
