My heartfelt condolences to Neil and the Wood-Mallory families, especially to Mary, John, Mike, Jeff and Andrew, and your extended families. Jan was far too young and her sudden passing must leave an unfathomable void in all your lives. I will always remember my encounters with Jan during numerous visits to Blenheim-Chatham-Erieau over the years, and an especially enjoyable meeting with her and Neil at a jazz club in Toronto some years ago. It was a pleasure to receive greetings from her on our shared birthday. Hers was a life well lived; her greatest legacy is her three fine sons who will doubtless take much comfort in their many memories of the times they shared with her. She will be missed...
Best regards to all,
Dave

It is with great sadness that I learned of the PASSING of Jan.! During our years of teaching together at Tecumseh S.S and
B.D.H S.I found her abundance of energy and great sense of humor to be one of the anticipated highlights of each day. As a member of our small social group who would gather for our weekly "Library Club" meetings at the Legion, Jan was the source of many smiles and chuckles. Jan was not just a nice person, but she would also go to extremes to accommodate and assist others.
The world is a better place because Jan's footsteps were here!
My Deepest Condolences to THE FAMILY!

Quite apart from her wonderful ways with family and the contributions she made to Blenheim/Chatham life, Jan was a bulwark, a foundation piece of BDHS.

Such sadness to hear of Jan’s sudden passing. As a former colleague I will remember most Jan’s ever-present smile and her always sincere, enthusiastic greeting.
Jan was a beautiful soul with a wonderful, mischievous sense of humour- one particular incident comes to mind. I was involved in a serious car accident- upon my release and return home I was greeted by the worst flower arrangement- one poinsettia- with three petals and two leaves resting on a bent stem. It had been sent by my colleagues. Since we lived a distance apart, and I knew they would not be aware of the lack of quality, I called the flower shop to complain. I was greeted by an individual who laughed and obviously expected my call. Jan and the group, once they were aware I was home and recuperating- had called and requested I be mailed the worst flower in the store- preferably one the shop might have already discarded. When I called- they knew I would- the shop was to tell me there was no mistake, my colleagues had specifically requested I be sent a half-dead flower, so I wasn’t the only half-dead thing in my room. Wickedly funny- I loved it!
Rest in peace my friend- you were one of a kind!
