Obituary of Barbara Nisbet

NISBET: Barbara Jean (nee Burleigh)-

A lifelong resident of Chatham, Barb Nisbet passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at her side on Tuesday, January 11, 2022  at the age of 74. 

Born in Chatham, Barb was the  daughter of Jean (Barnwell) Burleigh and the late Harry Burleigh. 

Beloved wife of 54 years to Rick Nisbet.

Loving mother of Lori Balfoort (Michael) of Elora and Lisa Heinbuck (Sean Sparkes) of Chatham.

Proud Gramma/Nama to Curtis Balfoort, Riley Balfoort, Mackenzie Heinbuck and Robyn Balfoort. 

Dear sister to Pat Weese (Glenn Thorpe), Dianne Twigg and Linda Painter (Chuck). 

Sister-in-law to Judy, Nancy (Tom), Bob (Annette) and Brian (Kathy).

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. 

Barbara was an active member of Evangel Community Church. She loved to go on cruises and play cards with Rick and their friends.  

Barb loved the Lord passionately and looked forward to the day she could meet Jesus in person.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Chatham on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Evangel Community Church, 76 Sandys Street, Chatham at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. A live-stream of the service will be available on the church website. Those planning to attend the visitation or the service are required to register on the Funeral Home website or by phoning the Funeral Home. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario have mandated that all attendees wear a mask. As per Barb's wishes, cremation has taken place.
