SOJAK: Mary (nee Tabacek) -
A resident of Ridgetown, Mary Sojak passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the age of 88.
Born in Hlinik, Slovakia, Mary was the daughter of the late Urban and Sofi (Pakanec) Tabacek.
Beloved wife of 58 years to John Sojak.
Loving mother of Jane Henderson (Ross) of Strathroy and Tom Sojak (Sylvana) of Windsor.
Proud Grandma to Candice Budzarov (David) and Robert Webster.
Great-Grandma to Layla Budzarov.
Survived by her sister Irene Loop (Bob).
Predeceased by her brother Tom Tabacek (late Irene) and infant brother Anthony Tabacek.
Sister-in-law to Bessie Kominek (late Frank), Frances Kominek (Stan), Milan Sojak (late Geraldine) and Jerry Sojak (Jean).
Predeceased by her in-laws Pat Cikatricis (late Joe), Mary Dinga (late Steve), Louis Sojak (Martha Kys), Martha Kovar (late Al), Joe Sojak (late Bonnie), Stanley Sojak and infant Agnes.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
A Private Family Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Blenheim with an interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Mary to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
