Bill Rosser

Obituary of Bill Rosser

William Stewart Rosser

On January 24, 2022 William (Bill) Stewart Rosser passed away peacefully with his family by his side. You may also know him by one of his many nicknames, Billy, Pea Head or Guy La Pea.

Born October 10, 1948 in Chatham Ontario, Bill was a lifelong resident and community member of Blenheim, Ontario.

He is survived by the love of his life, Sandra (Teddy) née Shupac. They were lifelong friends, having been neighbours as children and would have been married 54 years, with so many cherished memories.

He was the “best dad ever” to his 3 “little rascals,” Jil (Paul) Scott, Juli (Vince) Vlaminck, and Jodi (Gabe) Doher. A proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, Andrew and Eric Scott, Olivia, Darah and Heidi Vlaminck and Jayden and Jaxton Doher.

Bill was the Funcle (fun uncle) and great Funcle to many nieces and nephews. Rob (Jane) and Mike Barnes will be expected to continue the Rosser traditions and celebrations.

Bill is predeceased by his parents Mac and Margaret Rosser. Also predeceased by his sisters Peggy and Gail and brother in law Doug Barnes.

Bill worked hard his whole life having worked at the Southwest Regional Center, Rosser’s Men’s Wear, Havelock’s Mens Wear and most recently in the insurance industry. Bill was an avid Habs fan and he loved both the game and camaraderie of hockey, curling and golf. His beloved hockey #10, 5 way combo take out in curling and hole-in-one in Florida are included in his highlight reel.

Bill always had an open chair on the front porch and “one more” drink ready. But what he was best known for was his sense of humor. Regardless of his situation, Bill always found a way to make those around him laugh. He was quick with a joke, a one liner, and kept them coming up until the very end.

He brought the joy of laughter to many and will be missed.

A special thank you from the Rosser Family to the Chatham Kent Health Alliance - Dr Naeem, Nurse Practitioner Shelly, Nurse Sarah & to Beth Hall for care beyond the call of duty. Also, a sincere thank you to Wayne Dowd and Sharon Eagleson (née Shupac) for your love, support and time. You are appreciated beyond measure.
