Obituary of Audrey Mistele

Audrey Ellen Mistele (nee Watterworth)

1932-2022


Beloved wife of Dave (2015), sister of Johnny(1990), daughter of Unc (1974).

Mother to Pam (Steve), Mel (late Pat), John (Marg), and Rob (Marie-France).

Grandma to Brock, Meghan, Connor, Brett, Craig, Jonathan, Brandon, Matthew, Jack and Julia. She also leaves behind a niece Sue and nephews Dave, Peter and Greg.

Audrey was born in the small village of Rodney, Ontario but moved to Chatham in 1955 when she and Dave married. There they raised their four children and made many lifelong friends. She was very active in the community, volunteering at the Thames Art Gallery for over 40 years, organizing many fund raisers, art gallery tours to the states, and acting as both a school docent and a board member. She was also a lifelong member of IODE, and the Maycourt Club of Chatham. Audrey taught Sunday school for many years at the former Park Street United Church, and later in life enjoyed services at St. Andrew's United Church.

All who knew Audrey were aware of her love for art, books, and music. She enjoyed the many years spent at the family cottage in Port Glasgow. Audrey was always up for a walk on the beach, followed by large family dinners.
