Obituary of David John Easton
EASTON: David John "Whitey"-
A resident of Chatham, Dave Easton passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the age of 67.
Raised in Glen Morris, Dave was the son of the late Fred and Hedy (Lochman) Easton.
Beloved husband of 43 years to Patricia (nee Turkington).
Loving father to Colin Easton of Chatham, Kevin Easton (Monika) of London and Christopher Easton (Charmaine) of Calgary.
Proud Papa to Ava, Cora; Denae and Daley.
Dear brother to Robert Easton (Nancy) of Glen Morris.
Brother-in-law to Jack Turkington (Joyce). Predeceased by his sister-in-law Mary Ann Salisbury.
Uncle to Shawn Easton (Cassie), Kaitlyn Thomas (Christian), Zachary Easton (Taylor Evans), Jarrod Turkington (Stephanie), Jennifer Lynch (Brad) and Justin Turkington.
Also missed by friends, extended family and golfing buddies.
Dave moved to Chatham in 1972 to play for the Chatham Junior Maroons. He played two years with them, before attending Bowling Green State University on a full hockey scholarship, where he played as Captain of the team.
Dave retired as a sergeant from the Chatham-Kent Police after over 33 years of service.
Dave was an avid golfer, and enjoyed pickle ball and traveling with Patricia. In recent years, Dave enjoyed playing hockey with a number of his former Maroon teammates and frequent daily dog walks with Ryder and Tucker.
Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 4:00 - 6:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of David to Mental Health Chatham-Kent and Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
