Munro: June Theda (nee Wherry) -
A resident of Chatham, June Theda Munro passed away at Riverview Gardens on March 28, 2022 in her 100th year.
Born in St. Catharines, on July 14, 1922, June was the daughter of the late Fred I. Wherry and Catherine (nee Barr) Wherry.
June was the wife of the late OPP Sergeant Major Jack Munro (1986).
Mother of five sons, the late John Munro (1972), Michael Munro (Carolyn), the late Peter Munro (2007) and his late wife Linda (2008), Paul Munro, Mark Munro (Terry).
Proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren, Tim Munro (Pam), Kelly Munro (Scott), Michelle Long (Chris), Shannon Vollick (Chris), the late Johnna Munro (1992), Shawn and John-Paul Munro and great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren; Melissa Voijt (Greg), Ashley Munro, Amberleah Naukkarinen, Samantha Naukkarinen, Bryanna Thompson (Peter), Olivia Long, Hailey Rice, Cameron Vollick and Aiden Vollick. Great-great Grandmother to 2 great-great grandsons; Harrison Leitch and Logan Thompson.
Sister of the late Margaret Seigel (Des) and Irwin (John) Wherry (Cheryl). Several nieces and nephews will also mourn her loss. June will be remembered as a stay at home Mom to her five boys. She loved to bake and spent time volunteering at the hospital in Chatham. She worked part time at a couple of dress shops in Chatham. Her animals meant a lot to her especially her three legged Golden Labs both named Jessie.
Our family would like to extend our deepest thanks to the staff at Riverview Gardens, for the kind and compassionate care they gave Mom. As per her wishes, her family will remember her privately.
