It is with regret & great sadness that we announce that, surrounded by family, Germaine Marie Emma (nee Laevens) Pynenbrouck passed away on Monday, April 4th at Chatham-Kent Hospice.

Germaine was born in Dover Township on April 2, 1928. Daughter of the late Gustaf and Margaret (nee Descheemaeker) Laevens.  Predeceased by her beloved husband of 33 years, Emiel August Pynenbrouck (March 13, 1983).

Great-great-grandmother of Kenzlee, Colten, & Oliver.

Married on November 4, 1950, they lived in Jeannette's Creek for two years, then moved to Tilbury and farmed for 12 years.  In 1964, Germaine and Emiel moved to Ridgetown where they continued to farm.

In 2007, Germaine moved to Chatham.  She had a great love for the farm life and it showed with her green thumb and her gardening as well as her inside flowers.  Pride in her baking and having her house in order was always at the top of her list.  The love for sewing, whether it be fixing a pair of pants or making a new dress, her craft was easily recognized.

Germaine enjoyed being the social butterfly, from visiting with family, grandkids, tea times and even the odd visit with her past schoolmates.

Germaine was a proud and honourary member of the Catholic Women's League of St. Michael's of Ridgetown and Blessed Sacrament of Chatham.
