Obituary of Michael Beaton
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Michael (Mike) Beaton, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the age of 70.
Born December 31, 1951, Mike was the son of the late Michael "Mick" (2017) & Josephine "Peggy" (nee Carey, 2017) Beaton.
He will be remembered always by his loving wife & best friend, Chrisie Beaton (nee Vaughan).
Forever loved by his children, Lisa Gray (James), Michelle Beaton, Allen Shoemaker (Laurie), Stephanie Shoemaker (Eddie Cebula) & Nic Beaton (Leah Lester).
Proud Grumpy of Caitlyn (KK) Jamie, Caden (Cade), Jake, Noah, and Papa of Ayden, Maia (Papa's Little Witch), Miah, Kinsley (Boss Baby), Jaxyn (JEM), Kenna, Gracie, & Olivia.
Brother of Elaine Beaton-O’Neil (Clifford), Nancy Simmons (Bob), and Glen Beaton (Jackie).
Missed by many nieces, nephews and extended friends and family.
Mike had many passions including outdoor adventures, fishing, hunting, woodworking, music, playing guitar and spending time with family and friends. He loved to watch the popular TV show, The Curse of Oak Island, where there was always a Top Pocket Find to be found. Mike was definitely the Top Pocket Find in Chrisies' life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Wheeler, Mary-Beth (Commander/Nurse Bethie) and all Health Care Teams who assisted through his journey over the past 8 years.
Visiting with family and friends on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. A Celebration of Mike's Life will follow the visiting at 4:00 pm with a light luncheon to follow at the McKinlay Reception Centre. In keeping with Mike's request, he would love for those attending to dress casually. Cremation to follow with a Private Family Interment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Mike, donations may be made to the London Health Sciences Foundation (please write Prostate Cancer program on the memo line) or to Strings & Things where donations are used to support young musicians to continue making music. Please call Strings & Things (519-354-0111) and mention Mike's name. Music donations can be made by cash, cheque (payable to Strings & Things with Mike's name in the memo line) or a credit card. A Taxable receipt will not be provided for the donation.
