DOULAPTSIS: Dimitrios (Jim) -

A resident of Blenheim, Jim Doulaptsis passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the age of 64.

Born in Kalipefki, Greece, Jim was the son of the late Apostolos and Eleni (Kylindris) Doulaptsis.

Beloved husband of 36 years to Helen Doulaptsis (nee Giazitsioglou).

Loving father of Avrilia Doulaptsis-Mitsanas (Theodore) and Stephanie de Sousa (Derek).

The best Papou to Cristiano, Gabriella, Matteo, Artemis and Chrisovalandi.

Beloved brother of Christina Dassios (Jack) .

Beloved son-in-law to Lazarus and Avrilia Giazitsioglou and beloved brother-in-law to Pavlos Giazitsioglou (Agapi) and Maria Giazitsioglou.

Uncle to Greg (Tatiana), Paul (Holly), Nektarios, Eleni (Aristos), Lia and Lazarus.

Also missed by friends, extended family (Lambiris and Kylindris and many uncles, cousins and nephews from Greece/Australia), his partner of 40+ years (Angelo Dassios) and especially his work family at Venus de Milo/Fat Jimmyz.

Jim came to Canada at 17 years old. He worked very hard all his life to provide for his family. Jim was loved by everyone and had the biggest heart. He helped anyone in need and will be remembered and deeply missed. He warmed our hearts with his contagious smile, his humourous jokes and his playful character.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 3:00 - 5:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church, 816 Grand Ave East, Chatham at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in memory of Jim to the St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church in Chatham or to the Amyloidosis Foundation.
