Smythe, Bernard "Bernie"

 

The Best of Men - the man with the big hands, the big voice and even bigger heart. There was nothing he couldn’t or wouldn’t do for someone he loved.  Bernie Smythe, long-time resident of Dresden, is healed, whole and has passed on to Glory, on Monday, April 25, 2022 at the age of 74.

 

He was the son of the late Bernard & Marion (nee Ellacott) Smythe.

 

He will be treasured always by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn (nee Manderson).

 

Cherished Father of Jymal Smythe Newell (Clint), & Colin Smythe (Brandey).

 

The very best Papa to Luke, Jude, Sydney & Kensie.

 

Much loved Brother of Susan Carey (Dick), Barb St. Pierre, & Catherine Matthews (Jim Caldwell).

 

Beloved Brother-in-law of David Manderson (Gerry).

 

Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

 

Family to receive friends on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home followed by a reception.
