Obituary of St. Clair Shadd
Addison “St. Clair” Shadd was born on July 30, 1937. He peacefully passed away at home on May 30, 2022.
Beloved husband of Shirley for 60 years.
Father of Joyce (husband deceased), Shelly, Torrie (Sedrick), and Nicholas (Brenda).
Grandfather of Elijah, Sedrick Jr, Nicole (Frank), Robert, Brandon (Whitney), Jasmine, Sterling, Madeline, Shakeer, and Jordan.
Great grandfather of Roshina, Arriana, Sedrick III,Isabelle, Nicolas, Sezira, Jeremiah, Amelia, and Elijah.
Brother of Gary (Sheila). Also survived by several neices, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his parents Saxonia and Ira Shadd, brothers William “Bill”, Arthur and sister Sharon.
St.Clair was a long time member of the Chatham Concert Band for 50 years. He played in several other bands, starting with the Police Boys Band, and of course the North Buxton Maple Leaf Band started by his father Ira. St. Clair retired after 35 years as a mail carrier for Canada Post.
Family to receive friends on Friday, June 3, 2022 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 1pm until the beginning of the funeral service at 3 pm. Private burial to follow at North Buxton Memorial Cemetery.
If desired, memorial contributions can be made to the Chatham Concert Band.
