Obituary of John David Verrall
Peacefully in his sleep at Meadow Park Nursing Home, John David Verrall passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 in his 73rd year.
Loving mother & father, the late Archie & Eileen (nee Hancock) Verrall (2001 & 2013, respectively).
Loving brother of Bill Verrall (Rina) of Oakville and uncle to Carolyn, Drew, Heather (Darcy) and great-uncle to Tyler, Tory, Ruby & Colton.
In addition to cousins, Robert Hancock, Ron Hancock & Clara-Lyn Hancock.
John will be remembered for his kind, gentle manner and his great sense of humor. Most prominently, his devotion to his career as Captain of the Chatham Kent Fire Department for over 30 years.
A sincere thank you is extended to the entire West Wing staff of Meadow Park Nursing Home for all of their care and compassion for John. As well as to fellow Fire Fighter, Jim Brodie, a true friend and caregiver.
Visitation for John will take place on Monday, June 27, 2022 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Graveside Service for John will follow at 1:30 pm at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are invited to join the procession from the Funeral Home leaving at 1:00 pm.
Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider a donation to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation.
