Obituary of Rose Slavik
SLAVIK: Rose (Kocis) -
A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Mull, Rose Slavik passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice surrounded by her family on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the age of 96.
Born in Chatham, Rose was the daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Solarik) Kocis.
Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Joseph Slavik (2013).
Loving mother of Donald Slavik and his wife Heather and Carol McKerlie and her husband David of Belmont.
Grandma of Karen Baillargeon (Cory), Emily Evans (Steven) and Jessie McKerlie.
Nana of Brianne, Wesley, Ella, Mya, Clara and Finn.
Dear sister to Frances Banks (late Lawrence) and Helen Sysel (late Frank). Predeceased by her sister Pat Santavy (late Tony).
Sister-in-law to the late Frank Slavik (Barbara).
Rose worked alongside her husband Joseph on the farm all of her life. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon Street, Chatham at 11:00am on Thursday, August 11, 2022. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Rose to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or Pet and Wildlife Rescue would be appreciated.
