Gus Laprise

Obituary of Gus Laprise

LAPRISE: Augustine Jr.
If love could have kept him here, he never would have been taken from us but unfortunately “only the good die young” and on Monday December 12th, 2022,  dad was taken from us way too soon. He was born in Dover on October 24th, 1957 to his parents Augustine Sr (2012) and Marie Jeanne (2001) Laprise . He met the love of his life and married mom, Juliette Laprise and together they had 5 children, Jennifer and Corey, Sherry and Barry, Amy and Leo, Lisa and Darren and Shawn. The prize for raising his kids are his amazing grandkids. He was a proud pepe to Jeffrey, Heather, Savannah, Brandon, Cambrie, Gavin, Lauren and Blair. He doted on them ‘til the end. He is also the son in law to Arsene and Mary (2022) DeBaere and brother in law to Micheal DeBaere. He grew up as a middle child and was loved by his siblings Laura and Jack Renders, Dora and Orville Couture, Theresa LeClair, Annette and Mitch Caron, Roland and Kate Laprise, Roger and Patty Laprise, Leonard and France Laprise, Claude and Virginia Laprise, Joe and Chris Laprise, Sylva and Judy Laprise, Jerome and Nat Laprise, Louis and Janice Laprise and J.P. and Bern Laprise, Yvette (2020) and Dave Sterling and Armand (2021) and Bernice Laprise, Jeanette and Rob Howlett. Also predeceased by his sisters, Rochelle and Marie Anne. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He had the best neighbors Erik and Vickie Couture who always stepped up. He loved his visits from his honorary grandkids Ashlyn and Spencer Couture. Dad lived his life to the fullest. He worked at Pride Seeds for 15 years and still enjoyed his visits there with Dwayne and the crew after he retired. He could be found at the Dover Rod and Gun Club, downstairs in the basement making something for his girls, at Jerome's, at the baseball field or arena, at the stable or just being an Uber driver for the grandkids. He was his grandkids biggest fan. Dad could fix anything and if he couldn't we knew we were screwed but he definitely can’t fix our broken hearts. He could also build anything as woodworking was his passion. He enjoyed his short retirement and now he will be looking down from above making sure that we all live life to the fullest and we all “BEHAVE”.  This is our chance to send him off with a bang so Dover, help us show him how much he was loved. Dad, you will always be loved and will forever be in our hearts. In lieu of flowers as dad hated them, we ask that donations be made to the cancer society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the kids programs at the Dover Rod and Gun Club.
