Obituary of Deborah Lee Deneau

Deneau: Deborah Lee

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Deborah Lee Deneau (nee. Foster) at the age of 70 on January 27, 2023.

Debbie was the beloved wife of Doug Deneau for the past 51 years, mother to Michelle McCabe (Ryan) and Michael Deneau (friend Shaelynn), grandmother of Miriam, Ireland (Anthony), Riley (Breanna) Sage (Emily) Connor and Malachi, great grandmother of Elijah, sister of her twin Donna Formosa (the late Charles “Charlie” Formosa), Randy Foster (Cathy), Blair Foster (Leanne), Bonita Titus (Tom) and the late Juanita Marie Foster.

Debbie was predeceased by her parents Leroy and Violetta “Lubby” Foster. She was the daughter in law to Leonard Deneau and the late Madeline Deneau.

She was also the sister in law to Brian and Wendy Deneau, the late Charles “Chuck” Deneau, Sherry and Mike Allen, the late Henry Bruhlman, Pam and Blake Taylor, Pat and Cathy Deneau and the late Deb Foster.  She was also the aunt and great aunt to numerous nieces, nephews, their partners and close friends including the late Henry Bruhlman, Jr.

She is also survived by several cousins, aunts and uncles.  She cherished all of her family very much.

Debbie was born in Middleton, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia on September 9, 1952. She moved with her family to Chatham Ontario at the age of 12 where she has resided since.

She and Doug were high school sweethearts from the age of 14.  She was an avid hockey fan and a long time Toronto Maple Leaf fan. However, the Leafs were replaced as her favourite team by whichever team her grandson Sage plays for, currently the Stevenson University Mustangs. Debbie’s vast kindness, compassion and selfless giving to not only those she loved and cared for but to all those in need will be greatly missed.

Special thanks to the first responders from Chatham Kent E.M.S. and the Emergency Room staff at Chatham Kent Health Alliance who worked incredibly hard to try and save her. Donations made in her honour can be made to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance or the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by her family.
