McDonnell: Anne Marie (Vsetula) -
A resident of Chatham, Anne McDonnell passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice with her family at her side on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the age of 87.
Born in Harwich Township, Anne McDonnell was the daughter of the late Frank and Annie (Valasek) Vsetula.
Beloved wife of 45 years to the late Thomas McDonnell (1999).
Loving mother of Jim McDonnell (Pat), Patrick McDonnell (Lori), Deb Dewar and Dave McDonnell (Kim).
Former mother-in-law to Dave Dewar.
Proud Nana to Nicole Britton (Jeremy), Christy Campbell (Tyler), Greg Dewar (Alicia), Kyle Dewar and Tyler Dewar.
Great Grandma to Mason and Kenzie Britton; Larkyn, Brewer and Loewen Campbell; and Logan and Oliver Dewar.
Step-Grandma to Tim Gammage (Trish), Jack Tomen (Hannah), Kate Tomen and Sam Tomen.
Dear sister to Joseph Vsetula (Wendy) and the late Frank Vsetula (Ida).
Sister-in-law to Phil McDonnell (Mary Jean). Predeceased by her in-laws Jerry McDonnell (late Anne), Dan McDonnell (late Pat Cragg), Mary Belanger (late Ralph), Margaret Semchism (late Peter), Eileen Countryman (late Francis) and Irene Tunstall (late Jack).
Dearly missed by her feline companion, Missy.
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Anne loved playing Bingo, Euchre and going to the casino. Her parting words were always "I love you", a tradition she honoured even in her last breath.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 7:00 - 9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, 145 Victoria Ave, Chatham at 11:00am on Friday, March 3, 2023. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Anne to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Pet and Wildlife Rescue would be appreciated.
