Mary Louise was born in Florence, Ontario on April 21, 1923. Mom taught public school throughout Kent and Lambton Counties for 34 years beginning in 1943, starting at SS # 8 in Chatham Township. Other schools included were in Tupperville, Mount Pleasant near Dresden, Louisville, Charteris P.S. and she finished her career teaching grade three at McNaughton Ave P.S., retiring in 1982. She was a woman of unwavering faith and at different times of her life belonged to Dresden's Lindsay Road United Church, Victoria Avenue Church and St. Paul's Congregational Church in Chatham.
Our beautiful mom had a wonderful smile. She had amazing inner strength and never complained. Her activities centered around her family, church and fellowship with friends. She was a longtime World Vision supporter. Her kind and gentle nature was appreciated by her friends whom she drove to activities when they could not. Our mom was an avid bird watcher and nature lover. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Thank you to Dr. J. Carter and the compassionate staff of Elmwood LTC and Longworth Retirement Residence.
As per Mary Louise's wishes, cremation has taken place. Mary Louise's celebration of 100 years of life will be held at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
