THOMSON: Edward Gorden -
Ed Thomson, a resident of Chatham, died peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the age of 87. Born in Windsor, Ontario, the son of the late Roy Douglas and Nellie "Wilhelmine" (Branton) Thomson.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Eileen (Dec. 2015). Beloved father to his 4 children: Paula (Perry) Morrison, David (Anne) Thomson, Lynn Thomson, Brett (Andrea) Thomson. Loving grandfather to his 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Dear brother-in-law of Shirley (Jerry) Wadman, Lois Birchenough, Brian (Andrea) McDougall and sisters-in-law Marilyn McDougall, Janice Thomson and Pat Thomson. Predeceased by his brothers Bill (Marjorie), Jack (Cathy), Jim and Bob Thomson and sister-in-law Margaret Thomson and brothers-in-law James MacDougall and Art Birchenough. Ed is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their sincerest gratitude to Copper Terrace Nursing Home where the 3 East staff took exceptional care of our Dad (Eddie) for many years.
Friends will be received at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 11:00am until the Funeral Service at 1:00pm with Gabriella Cutler officiating.
Interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham following the service.
Donations in memory of Ed to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
