Obituary of Mark Townsend
A resident of Ridgetown, formerly of Hamilton, Mark Henry Townsend Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the age of 70.
He was the son of the late Thomas & Gwendolyn (nee Bailey) Townsend.
Predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Mary Jean (nee Hemlow).
Lovingly remembered by his daughter, LeeAnn Mayotte (Shawn) and son, Mark Townsend Jr.
Loving grandpo of Dustin (Ashley) & Seirra (Matthew). Loving grandfather of Zachary, MacKenzie, & Kennedy.
Loving great-grandpo of Mariah Isabella.
Brother of Dr. Marta Townsend (the late Dr. Ray Engel) and brother-in-law of Willy Hemlow.
Mark was born in Hamilton, living most of his adult life in Cambridge before moving to Ridgetown. Mark was a Gas Fitter who retired from Reliance Home Comfort after 25 years of Service. He was a lifelong Tiger Cats fan and Toronto Maple Leaf fan. Mark was a lifelong shareholder of brewers retail and a connoisseur of many. He will be sadly missed by many of his lifelong friends, Gary, Phil, & Joe.
Cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Life to take place at a later date.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Chatham-Kent Animal Rescue after Mark's avid love of Dachshunds.
