Obituary of Gwendolyn Jean Johnson
Johnson: Gwendolyn Jean (nee Bisner) -
A resident of Sarnia, and formerly of Chatham and Ridgetown, Gwen Johnson passed away at the Trillium Villa in Sarnia on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the age of 95.
Born in Howard Township, Gwen was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Annie (née Leach) Bisner.
Beloved wife of the late F. Alex Johnson (1991).
Predeceased by her sister Anna Jones (2021) (late Keith, 2015).
Dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Gwen retired from the City of Chatham after many years of service.
Gwen was the Past President of the Business and Professional Woman's Club of Chatham. She supported many causes that helped the underprivileged locally and internationally.
Gwen enjoyed serving as a minister at the Blenheim and Chatham Community of Christ congregations for many years.
Special thanks to the entire Community of Christ congregation for their care and support over the years.
A Celebration of Gwen's Life will be held at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown at 11:00am on Friday, June 2, 2023. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Ridgetown.
Donations made in memory of Gwen to the Community of Christ Erie Beach or World Accord would be appreciated.
