Obituary of Matthew Lawrence Cibulka

CIBULKA: Matthew Lawrence -

A resident of Toronto, and formerly of Dresden, Matthew Cibulka passed away at the Mount Sinai Hospital with family at his side on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the age of 32.

Born in Chatham, Matthew was the son of Larry and Jenny (Gazarek) Cibulka.

Dear brother to Marc Cibulka.

Predeceased by his grandparents John and Mary (Tomecek) Cibulka and Martin J. and Frances (Uhlik) Gazarek.

Dearly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and his canine companion Lexi.

Matthew graduated from The University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Computing. He enjoyed working as a software developer/tester.

Matthew liked taking care of his houseplants, cooking, watching a good movie or series, going to sporting events with his Dad, listening to music and podcasts.

He was an Apple Device enthusiast, and eagerly anticipated when the next device would come out.

Matthew was a quiet, caring person who was devoted to his family and friends. He loved living in Toronto and the lifestyle that went with it. Matthew was very meticulous and liked things to be neat and organized.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Family Prayers will be held Wednesday at 6:45 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Parish, 180 Wellington Street West, Chatham at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 27, 2023. Interment to follow at Dresden Cemetery.

Special thanks to the staff of UHN and specifically the Princess Margaret Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant Team and the Mount Sinai ICU staff.
