Williston: Ruth Anne (née Butcher) -
A resident of Chatham, Ruth Williston passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on May 3, 2023 at the age of 70.
Born in Hamiota, Ruth was the daughter of the late Fred and Belle (née Sunley) Butcher.
Wife to the late Doug Williston.
Survived by Sisters, Joyce (Nick) Totte, Freida (Greg) Butcher and predeceased by Donna (David) Woods.
Will be missed by special friend and advocate Michelle Sobry, who considered Ruth a part of her family.
Will be fondly remembered by many Nieces and Nephews.
Ruth was an avid shopper and loved spending time with her friends, she was the kind of friend that never forgot a birthday and was very generous and trusting. Ruth had a very special friend and companion Kasey, her cat. She enjoyed her time living at Maple City Retirement making many friends with the residents and staff.
In keeping with Ruth's wishes cremation has taken place and she will be brought home to Manitoba and a private family service will take place at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Ruth to the Big Fix Grassroots Cat Rescue or the Chatham-Kent Animal Rescue would be appreciated.
