Romeo Myers

Obituary of Romeo Myers

A resident of Grande Pointe, Romeo Myers passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the age of 89.

He was the son of the late Donné & Virginia (nee Couture) Myers.

Remembered always by his devoted wife of 64 beautiful years, Ruth (nee McKeon). Loving father of Kevin Myers (Sue), Keith Myers (Janice) and Kolette Myers.

Grandpa of Derek Myers (Amy), Crystal Gayed (Fady), Meghan Myers and Mariah Myers.  Great-Grandpa of Yvan, Brander, Nash, Yasmina, and Zaina.

Brother of Dorothy Lozon (the late Romeo) and predeceased by his siblings, Alvin Myers, Orville Myers, Seville Myers, Roland Myers and Jeanne Bélanger.

Brother-in-law of Vince Bélanger, Ed McKeon (the late Janet), Gord McKeon (Patti), Theresa Dupuis (Camille), Eleanor Peltier (the late Pete), the late Pat McKeon (Val) and Larry McKeon (Linda).  Predeceased by his sister-in-law, Marie Shepley and brother-in-law Jim Shepley.  Missed by many nieces, nephews & extended family.

Romeo enjoyed many outdoor activities such as snowmobiling and ice fishing.  However, nothing filled him with more happiness than cutting his grass.  His lawn and gardens were a source of much pride.  He could often be found sitting on a chair in the shade or at the picnic table, admiring that beloved lawn!  During the colder months, he could be found at a table playing Euchre or Pepper.  Romeo loved all machinery but he really loved his crane.  He retired at the age of 80 and recently professed that he would still like to be working on the crane.  He certainly loved working and loved his job.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all medical professionals for their care and compassion with Romeo.

Family to receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00 - 4:00 pm & 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Romeo's life will be at the Funeral Home on Friday at 10:30 am. Cremation to follow with a Private Family Interment.
