Obituary of Kathryn Day
Kathryn Day (Wieringa)-
On May 7, 2023, Kathryn passed away peacefully in her sleep. A life long resident of Chatham, Kathryn was born on August 23, 1932 to John and Dorothy Wieringa. Beloved wife of the late Doug Day (2015) and dear mother to Bob (2018), Bill and his wife Marty of London, and Ron and his wife Catherine of Chatham. Loving grandmother to Matt, Mark, Brett (Devin), Travis, Garret, Zarley and Jamie. Also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Kip and Archie.
Dear sister to the late Anne (Fred) Garbutt, George (surviving wife Mary) Wieringa, Kip (Ann) Wieringa, John (Celeste) Wieringa, Dena (Roy) Stewart, and Gary (surviving wife Jeannie) Wieringa.
Special thanks to the caring staff at Grand Retirement Village and Riverview Gardens.
In keeping with Kathryn’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private graveside service will take place at a later date when her ashes will be interred next to her husband Doug at the Maple Leaf Cemetery in Chatham.
Donations in memory of Kathryn can be made to a charity of your choice.
