Obituary of Patricia Hinz
Hinz: Patricia "Pat" Ann (nee Hyatt) -
Pat Hinz, age 83, of Chatham, Ontario, passed away with her loving family at her side on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Riverview Gardens. Daughter of the late Glen (1998) and Reta (1989) (nee Williamson) Hyatt, formerly of Cedar Springs.
She attended Blenheim District High School where she met the love of her life Eugene "Gene" John Hinz. They were married for 66 years, and had three children, Laura (Frank) Carnegie, Brian (Laurie) Hinz and Linda Quick (Duane Morden).
Pat was a sales clerk at Zellers for many years until she retired in 1996 to be a full-time Grandma to Patti (Steve) Melhuish, Don Carnegie, Stephanie Hinz, Shaun (Kelsie) Hinz, Richard Quick, Amanda (Krisjanis) Whittaker-Lee and Great-Grandma to Ava Melhuish.
Dearly missed by brothers and sisters; Royce (2021) (Karri) Hyatt, Saundra (Mike) Maynard, Blake (2009) (Claire) Hyatt, Charlene (Ron) (2001) Eskritt and Darlene (Bill) (2014) Buxton. In-laws; Doug (2005) (Katharine) (2018) Hinz, Sandy (Marc) Lendrum, and Robert (1989) Hinz.
Knitting, crocheting, and quilting were her favourite pastimes that she took with her to Snowbird in Florida every winter. They were heavily involved with the Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs for many years. Pat and Gene shared a lifetime of beautiful memories that are a gift to each other and their family.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00pm and on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 10:00am until the Celebration of Pat's Life at 11:00am with Rev. Paul Pollex officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Pat to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
