Holthof: George William (Gerrit Willem Holthof) -
A lifelong resident of Chatham, George Holthof was taken home to be with Jesus on June 3, 2023 at the age of 92.
Born in Zuidwolde, The Netherlands, George was the son of the late Egbert and Aaltje (née DeVries) Holthof.
Dearly loved husband and devoted soul mate to the late Effie (née Israels).
God blessed them with 2 sons and 3 daughters. Dear father to Effie (Daniel) Faubert, Dianne Katherine (Tom) Toma, Pamela (Mac) McAndrews, George (Tena) Holthof Jr.,Edward (Jennifer) Holthof and special friend to Belinda Wolfe (adopted daughter).
Proud grandfather to 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Dear brother to to Aly Broersma and Theresa Dunkley (Bill). Survived by sister-in-law Rita Ramsdale (Howard); sister-in-law Juliana Crowe (Don); brother-in-law Charles Slade. Predeceased by his brother Renst (Kick); sisters-in-law Candice Holthof, Florence Slade, Joan Greydanus and brothers-in-law Peter Broersma, Gerald Greydanus and Dick Israels (Judy).
Cremation with interment at Pardoville Cemetery has taken place. Family and friends are invited to gather at First Christian Reformed Church, 25 Tweedsmuir Ave E, Chatham on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service to celebrate Georges' life at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in memory of George to World Renew or ReFrame Ministries International would be appreciated by the family.
