Obituary of William Jacques

A resident of Chatham, Bill Jacques passed away peacefully at Cooper Terrace Nursing home on June 12,2023 at the age of 72. Bill was the son of the late John and Emma Jacques. Beloved husband to the late Janice Jacques and beloved friend Patty Montgomery. Much loved father to Jon Jacques (Courtney), Bill Jacques (Tamera), Chris Jacques (Lisa) and Tracy Jacques (Derek).

Proud papa to Chloe Jacques, Cohen Jacques, Alyssa Withington, Taylor Withington, Kerrigan Jacques, Kaeman Behnke, Bailey Jacques, Brooklyn Jacques, Jackson Jacques, Serenity Cassibo, Sadie Strain and a great grandfather to Jaxon Withington.

Loving brother to the late Tom Jacques and Terry Jacques of Blenheim; and loving uncle to Jennifer Holthof (Ed).

Bill grew up in the small town of Erieau. A bottle of OV and sleeping under a canoe listening to the waves was his kind of night; or throwing a picnic table into the fire and sleeping on that was just as great. He was the life of the party and could always land a smile on anyone’s face even if he was telling you to “F” off! He was strong and stubborn and truly the glue that made our family stick.

From riding on the back of his 71 Triumph Bonneville, to watching football games,while he preferred hockey more, listening to “encouragement” hockey spiels on the way home from Blenheim, to hour long phone conversations after work; his heart was where we needed it at all times. He was an advent hockey fan. He coached minor hockey for many years and we are currently still waiting on the Maple Leafs to win the next Stanley Cup (maybe next year dad).

Bill's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, and Copper Terrace for their exceptional care.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Chatham Kent Hospice would be appreciated.
