Leonard Lucier

Obituary of Leonard Douglas Lucier

Surrounded by those he loved; Leonard D. Lucier Sr. passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Thursday, June 29, 2023.  He was 78 years old.

Predeceased by his parents, Leonard J., and Betty (Siddall) Lucier.

A resident of Mitchell’s Bay, Len was always looking for the perfect fishing spot.  He enjoyed bird watching in the backyard, playing cards with willing opponents, and playing golf in his younger years.

Len will be forever missed by his daughters, Kelly Lucier (Chris Murphy), Keri Lucier (Chris Daoust) and his daughter-in-law Jennifer Lucier.  Predeceased by his #1 son, Leonard D. Lucier Jr.

Len’s special grandchildren: Lexus, Leyton, Landon, Carter, Avery, Jaelyn, and Jordyn referred to him as Papa.  They would fear handshakes that secured them for a tickle.

Dear brother to Becky Martincich (Lino), Brenda Lanno (Dario), and Mary Lynne Lucier (Joe Salinitri).

Predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Wayne and sister, Dianne Lynne. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Len was a Certified Professional Accountant, providing exceptional tax advice to individuals and businesses in the area, with his long-time employee Dori Shirlow.

One of his favourite pastimes was playing bridge in-person, online and in many tournaments with his friends which earned him a Masters title.

Len’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Chatham Kent Health Alliance for their support during this difficult time.

Please join us in celebrating the life of Len Lucier, on Monday, July 24th, 2023 from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre, 565 Richmond Street, Chatham, Ontario, N7M 1R2. Words and Tribute will take place at 3:30 pm.
