Schaffer, Betty "Sarah Elizabeth" (née Gillard) -
A resident of Dresden, Betty passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance surrounded by family on July 3, 2023 at the age of 87.
Born in Highgate, Betty was the daughter of the late John and Carrie (née Gray) Gillard-Blue.
Beloved wife of 61 years to John (2020).
Loving mother of George Schaffer, Mark Schaffer, Michelle (predeceased) and Faith Schaffer.
Caring Grandma of Morgan, Avery, Bennet, Darian, Devon, Jeremiah, Avery and Alyssa.
Great-grandma of Scarlette.
Betty was very involved in and supportive of Dresden Minor Hockey and acted as Secretary-Treasurer for a number of years. She was an avid baker and enjoyed cooking for her family.
Family will receive friends in memory of Betty and John at McKinlay Funeral Home 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Friday July 7, 2023, from 6:00-8:00pm. The combined Funeral Service of Betty and John will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday July 8, 2023 at 11:00am. Interment will be held at Duart Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Betty to the Canadian Cancer Society or PAWR would be appreciated by the family.
