West, Norma Jean (nee Collison)
Norma Jean West, a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the age of 94.
She was the daughter of the late Seth & Mildred (nee Fox) Collison.
Norma will be reunited with her late husband of 61 years, Ralph Douglas West (2017).
Predeceased by her brother, Ralph George Collison (1992).
Survived by sister-in-law, Eva Collison (nee Stecher).
Missed by her nieces, Laurie Prudhomme (John), Linda Sarrazin (Rick), nephew Greg Collison and her great-nieces & nephews.
Remembered always by her chosen family, George, & Garna Argenti & godson, Adam Argenti.
Norma retired after 20 years with Union Gas as a Switchboard Operator, previously with Bell Telephone Company of Canada. She was a member of Christ Church and a Charter Member of the Camera Club in Chatham, Kent Regiment Chapter IODE for 61 years and the Hospitallier Order of St. John of Jerusalem London Commandery. Ralph and Norma enjoyed traveling abroad, all over Canada and the US. She was a very accomplished seamstress and was extremely artistic.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Alvi, Stacy of Medicine B, the staff of Continuing Care at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and the staff of Eden Villa for their care and compassion.
Family to receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2023 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation, Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation, or to a charity of ones choice.
