Ellwood: Wilhelmina Olga (née Vriend) -
A resident of Chatham, Willa Ellwood passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on July 12, 2023 at the age of 80.
Born in Andijk, Netherlands Willa was the daughter of Peter and Margaret (née Groot) Vriend.
Beloved wife of 55 years to Gary.
Loving mother to Shelley Goodwin (Robert), Peter Ellwood (Olivia) and Jodie Grainger (Kevin).
Nana to Kayla and Robert Jr. Goodwin, Iesha Ellwood and Kalie Grainger.
Sister to Trudy (Dick), Tina (Bernie), Jake (Minka) and sister-in-law Barbara. Predeceased by brothers John and Casey.
Willa retired after 40 years of working as a lab technician at Public General Hospital. She cherished the connections she made through various organization throughout her life. Willa found joy in the beauty around her in both nature and flowers.
Family to receive friends on Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Willa to the New Beginnings ABI and Stroke Recovery Association or The Chatham-Kent Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
