Bourdages: Alcidas Etienne-

A resident of Chatham, Alcidas Bourdages passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2023 at the age of 90.

Born in Bonaventure, Quebec Alcidas was the son of the late Leo and Imelda (nee Arseneau) Bourdages.

Beloved husband of 65 years to Suzanne (nee Therrien).

Dear father to Mario Bourdages (Julie) and Ginette Funk (Hans). Proud grandfather to Brittany Inkster (Jeffery), Chelsea Bourdages, Emily Bourdages (Chuck Spillette), Brandon Funk (Paige Coyne) and Steven Funk (Lauren Ouimet).

Great-grandfather to Harper and Elliot Inkster.

Predeceased by his brothers; Jean-Paul, Romeo, Maurice, Guy Bourdages and his sister Jeanne Cayouatte.

Alcidas moved from Quebec to Chatham in 1972, continuing in the TV repair business he started in Quebec. He along with his wife Sue, eventually became the owner and operator of the Dairy Queen on Richmond Street until their retirement. He was a life-long fan of the Montreal Canadiens. In his retirement years he and Sue enjoyed many winters in Florida and summers at their cottage in Bonaventure, Quebec.

Special thank-you is extended to the VON, Bayshore Health, Chatham-Kent EMS, Dr. Abdi and Dr. Z. Milkovic for the tremendous care and compassion shown to Alcidas.

In keeping with Alcidas wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial visitation and service will be held in the Funeral Home at a later date.

Donations made in memory of Alcidas to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
