Cornwall: Geraldine Cecelia (née Grenidge) -
A former resident of Merlin, Geraldine Cornwall passed away at the Willows Estate in Aurora, Ontario on July 31, 2023 at the age of 89.
Born in St. Georges, West Indies, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Gerald Grenidge and Maggie Benoit.
Beloved wife of the late Rawle Cornwall (2013).
Dear mother of Wilfred Cornwall (Renee) of Hamilton, Margaret Chappell (Dana) of London, Sharon Cornwall of Calgary, Christopher Cornwall of Chatham, Glynn Cornwall (Christine) of Toronto, Edna Cornwall Shadd (Willy) of Chatham, Tyrrell Cornwall (Mary Lou) of North Carolina, Richard Cornwall (Everette) of Toronto and the late Eric Cornwall (1977).
Proud grandmother to Julia Chappell, Yolanda Cornwall, Justin Chappell, Aaron Cornwall, Jermaine Chappell, Selina Cornwall, Anthony Headley, Kestin Cornwall, Jamaal Cornwall, Cassandra Cornwall-Douglas, Genevieve Cornwall, Lindsay Cornwall, Jovan Shadd, Desiree Henry, Tevin Shadd, Joshua Cornwall, Zaria Cornwall, Markus Shadd, Zakary Cornwall, Jonathan Cornwall, and Mateen Cornwall. Great Grandchildren Juwan Chappell, Kataura Quayson, Tyriq Quayson, Maliki Cornwall-Douglas, Jelis Chappell, Jamicia Cornwall Douglas, Hayden Chappell, Novahji Cornwall-Douglas, Quinton Chappell, Zion Cornwall-Douglas, Isaiah Cornwall, Grayson Chappell, and Jaxson Headley, Braylen Cornwall, Noah Cornwall, Easton Headley, Owen Cornwall, Layla Cornwall and George Schaefer.
Geraldine will also be dearly missed by Lynda Shadd.
Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate Geraldine's life will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Interment follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Memorial donations made in memory of Geraldine to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Mental Health Association-Lambton-Kent Branch would be appreciated by the family.
