Obituary of François Gérard Marentette
A resident of Pain Court, François Marentette passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the age of 55.
Born in Chatham on October 12, 1967, François was the son of the late Gérard (July 2023) and Angéline (née Blais) Marentette (December 2017).
Dear brother to Jacinthe Aardema of Chilliwack, BC.
Nephew to the late Jeannette Howard (late Hank), the late Raymond Blais (Blair), Philippe Blais (late Rosita), Lucille Monforton (late Lloyd), the late Thomas Blais (Gabrielle), the late Romain Blais, Louis Blais, Maxine Blair, the late Alphonse Marentette (late Evéline) and the late Roméo Marentette (late Maria).
Fondly remembered by many cousins, friends and extended family.
François graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Communications.
His passions were reading, music, sports (baseball, hockey, basketball, football, golf and soccer), movies and old sitcoms.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Progressive Care Unit and the Emergency Department at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Dr. Sullivan and his nurses and the paramedics who assisted him with dignity and grace. We would also like to acknowledge the excellent professional care of V.O.N. nurse Stacey, Mike of Community Paramedics and physiotherapist Berardo.
As per François' wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held jointly for François and his father Gérard at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 11:00am until the joint Liturgy at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Immaculée Conception Cemetery, Pain Court.
Donations made in memory of François to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
