Obituary of Maria Teresa Amorini
Amorini: Maria Teresa (nee Barel) -
A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Pickering, Maria Amorini passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the age of 90.
Born in Vittorio Veneto, Italy, Maria was the daughter of the late Mario and Luigia Barel.
Beloved wife of 64 years to Domenico Amorini.
Loving mother of Corrado Amorini (2000), Robert Amorini and Lisa Amorini.
Proud Nonna to Stefanie, Christine, Joey and Michael.
Great-grandmother to Jackson.
Predeceased by her brothers Piero Barel (late Ida) and Albano Barel (late Lucia).
Sister-in-law to the late Giovanni Amorini (Winnie), the late Romano Amorini (Filomena) and Ralph Amorini (Gulia).
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Maria was known for her cooking, and loved hosting dinners for family and friends. She also loved to shop - especially for clothes. More than anything, Maria loved her grandchildren.
As per Maria's wishes, cremation has taken place and her family will remember her privately.
Special thanks to the staff, PSWs and nurses at Bayshore for their care and compassion.
Donations made in memory of Maria to the Alzheimer Society or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.
