Obituary of Ruth Anne Cox

COX: Ruth Anne (nee Stewart) -

A lifelong resident of Chatham Township, Ruth Anne Cox passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at her side on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the age of 79.

Born in Chatham, Ruth Anne was the daughter of the late Howard and Jean (Conliffe) Stewart.

Beloved wife of 58 years to John "Jack" Cox.

Loving and cherished mother of Tim Cox (Kimberly) of Chatham, Lee Anne Cox Dewar (Carl) of Cambridge and Todd Cox (Amy) of Blenheim.

Proud Nan/Gram to Claudia and Claire Cox; Alyssa and Marshall Ponté; and Emma and Benjamin Cox.

Dear sister to Gerald Stewart (Lynda) of Chatham.

Also missed by her extended family on Manitoulin Island and dear friends.

Ruth Anne was a proud member of the Holy Trinity St. Paul's Anglican Church ACW. She was known at the church as the 'card lady', sending out over 200 cards a year to the members of the parish. She also mailed many letters to family, friends and people she thought could use a pick-up. 

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday, September 11, 2023 from 11:00am until the Celebration of her Life at 1:00pm. Cremation to follow with a private family interment on Manitoulin Island at a later date.

Donations made in memory of Ruth Anne to the Holy Trinity St. Paul's Anglican Church General Fund would be appreciated.
