WALKER: Susan Elizabeth Walker -

After a lengthy illness and a courageous battle, Susan Elizabeth Walker passed away at Fairfield Park Nursing Home in Wallaceburg, Ontario on September 18, 2023 at the age of 57.

Beloved daughter of the late Dr. George (2021) and Joyce (2015) (Glen) Walker.

Loving sister of David (Karen) Walker of Wallaceburg, Dr Mark (Jane) Walker of Sparta, and Dr. Stephen Walker of Setauket, New York.

Cherished aunt of Erin, Denise (Chris), Kristin (Brendan), Justin (Jennifer) Robin (Jeff) and five great nephews and a great niece. Lovingly remembered by her aunt and uncle, Lynn and Peter Lingard.

Susan will also be missed by many cousins in both the Glen and Walker families.

Susan will be greatly missed by her dearest and enduring friends Deborah, Nada, Virginia and Ted who enjoyed many life adventures with Susan over the years and continued to support her during her illness.

Susan was born in Chatham, Ontario and began her love of dance at an early age at Florence Abel’s School of Dance. After graduating from the Ursuline College in Chatham, Susan studied dance at the National Ballet of Canada and the University of Madrid. Upon her return to Canada, Susan achieved a Master of Kinesiology degree in dance from the University of Waterloo. Susan’s greatest joy was sharing her passion and love of both Ballet and Flamenco in her role as mentor and teacher to students of all ages, throughout Canada. Susan will be remembered for her bright smile, her kind heart, her artistic talents and her love and appreciation for all things beautiful in life.

She particularly enjoyed her many years residing in Toronto where she whole heartedly embraced the art, multiculturalism and vibrancy of the city.

Special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at both Fairfield Park Nursing Home and The Chatham Retirement Resort. Each one of you made Susan’s days brighter and eased her discomfort as her health declined over the past few years. We are eternally grateful for your kindness.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 12:00pm until the Celebration of her Life at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Mayhew Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville.
