Jean Trudell

Obituary of Jean Trudell

On October 3, 2023, our family said farewell to a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Jean was a lifelong resident of Chatham-Kent, who loved and cherished the value of a farming
community and passed that on to the next generations.

So many have been touched by Jean’s compassion whether as a patient under her nursing care, as a
nurse instructor or just as a friend or neighbour. As a woman of faith and strong moral convictions, Jean became well respected by all those who were graced by her company.

Nobel and Margaret Wright brought Jean into the world at the beginning of the Great Depression.  She married Bernard Trudell on September 12, 1953, with whom she raised a family of three, enjoyed the farm life in Pain Court and pursued a career in nursing.

She will be dearly missed by her three children Michèle, Marc and Jerome and their spouses, James,
Pauline and Cathy. Her love has been passed on to eleven grandchildren; Jacqueline, Sarah (Kevin) and Michael (Samantha) children of James and Michèle, AnnaLise (Holly), Nicholas, John Paul, and Madeleine children of Marc and Pauline Trudell; Matthieu (Laura), Elyse, Andre and Justin children of  Jerome and Cathy. Although very young, Jean’s six great-grandchildren Emma, Olivia,  Sophia, Madeline, Rémy and Mylo will hear wonderful memories from friends and family.

Jean’s family would also like to recognize Elizabeth Barr for her friendship.

Our family extends a sincere appreciation to the staff at CKHA and LHSC for their devoted care. As a
fellow health practitioner, Jean developed a special bond with Dr. Roszell as the two confronted  various health concerns. We greatly appreciate the care at Grand Retirement Village.

Today the gates of heaven will be opened extra wide to receive such a loving, caring daughter of God.

Family will receive friends at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday October 5 from 5-8pm. A visitation will take place at Immaculée Conception Parish Church at 10am on Friday October 6 followed by the Funeral Mass at 11am.

Donations made in the memory of Jean to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or Charity of your Choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
