Grocott: Fred -
A lifelong resident of Chatham, Fred Grocott passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at the age of 78.
Born in Chatham, Fred was the son of the late George and Madeline (Murray) Grocott.
Father to Gregg Grocott (Kylie) and Meredith Grocott-Bechard.
Grandfather of Leila and Logan Bechard and Claire and Lincoln Grocott.
Dear brother to Jack Grocott (Susan) and Don Grocott (Shirley). Predeceased by his siblings Lorraine Pollowick (late Alec), Barb Geroux (late Sy), Anne Tedford (late Jack).
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Fred retired from the Chatham Post Office after over 30 years of service. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 642 in Chatham.
A Celebration of Fred's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 642, 39 William Street N., Chatham on Saturday, October 14 , 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A Private Family interment will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Fredrick to the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 642 would be appreciated by the family.
