Stewart: Ilene (née Lusk) -
A resident of Chatham Township, Ilene Stewart passed away peacefully at home with her family on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the age of 91.
Born in Dover Township, Ilene was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bernice (née Kennedy) Lusk.
Beloved wife of 71 years to Keith Stewart.
Cherished mother of Gary Stewart (Susan), Randy Stewart (Jan) and Scott Stewart (Diane).
Proud Grandma to Erin Stewart Eves (Trevor), Kyle Taylor-Stewart (Andy), Erica Stewart (Jay), Jared Stewart (Kristen), Lauren Stewart (Rob), Julia Stewart, Victoria Vanlammeren (Mark) and Chris Scott (Angela).
Great-Grandma to Grady Eves, the late Campbell Eves, Griffin Eves, Olivia Martin, Cooper Martin, Hannah Stewart, Madyson Dittmer (Branden) and Myles Dittmer. Great-Great-Grandma to Alaina.
Predeceased by her sister Reta Pike and brother Gary Lusk.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Ilene worked in accounting for 55 years for Dover Corporation, before being poached by the family business. She had a quick quiet wit and a meticulous detailed nature which led to the nickname the Queen of Lists. Always generous, she put everyone before herself. She was a proud survivor of the 'Week that Was' and she wrote a historical account of her grand misfortune to continue to amuse future generations. Her "Ilene eyes" were a sign that trouble was in the air.
As per Ilene's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Ilene to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
