Obituary of Gisèle Cléroux

It’s with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gisèle Cléroux of Chatham, Ontario. Gisèle peacefully passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice with her family by her side on November 25th, 2023 at the age of 72.

Gisèle was born in Navan, Ontario and spent the majority of her life living in Ottawa. She enjoyed a long career working at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. After retirement, she moved to Chatham to be with her son and family. She enjoyed meeting new people, gardening and spending most of her time with her grandchildren.

Gisèle was a beloved mother to André and his wife, Shelby (Bellinger). She was a cherished grandmother to Maximus and Samuel. She will also be dearly missed by many of her extended family, friends and neighbours.

Those that knew her would tell you that she was a sweet, loving woman with the biggest heart. She instantly made you feel welcomed and special. Just meeting her felt like you knew her for years.

Gisèle has taught many of us over the years that challenging situations are only problematic when you worry about them.

“My girl, my boy… don’t you worry about me, I’m going to be alright!”

Out of respect for her wishes, no funeral or ceremony will be held however the family would appreciate any donations that could be made in her memory to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation and/or the Chatham-Kent Library (Literacy Angels Program).
