It is always difficult saying good-bye to someone we love and cherish.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Marisa Joy Sloan of Chatham, Ontario who passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the age of 33.
Marisa was the loving daughter of Colleen (nee Richie) and Grant Sloan. Adored mother of Alexis and Mia Vanbemmel. Cherished sister of Karli MacFarlane (Corey) and Autumn Sloan (Abby). Loving Aunt to Scotlyn and Clara MacFarlane. Precious granddaughter of Yvonne Richie. Also missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Growing up Marisa was a very curious, energetic and loving child. She was a social butterfly and would help out anyone in need. She loved to play sports and was a valued team member on her travel basketball and baseball teams. Marisa was very artistic and creative, and enjoyed sharing this interest with her daughters. Her greatest joy came from being a mother and spending time with her family and friends.
Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 3:00 - 5:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00am on Friday, December 1, 2023. Cremation to follow.
Donations made in memory of Marisa to the Chatham-Kent Women's Centre would be appreciated by the family.
