Obituary of Geraldine Ann McPherson
McPherson: Geraldine Ann (née Hitchcock) -
A resident of Blenheim, Geraldine McPherson passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on November 3, 2023 at the age of 75.
Born in Chatham, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Bruce Raymond and Gwendoline Belle (née Shaw) Hitchcock.
Survived by her two daughters, Julie Ann Guyitt of Chatham (granddaughter Alexia Huffman) and Leah Coll of Blenheim and her family. Geraldine was the sister of Don Hitchcock and Jack Hitchcock (Katherine).
Grandma was better known as Gia to her 5 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild. They will keep her memory alive, especially at her favourite time of year. They will embrace and cherish the memories Gia has instilled in their lives.
Aunt of Alicia Kemp (Jarrod) and their children, Wyatt Hitchcock (Lauren) and Danielle Parker (Scott) and their children .
Niece of Ann Hubbard.
She was a Blenheim native attending the schoolhouse at Guilds before enrolling at the Blenheim High-school for her senior education. Graduating at 18 from college she gained employment as a Book-Keeper with Western Equipment and then eventually taking a position at Union Gas. Later on she applied herself to a successful career at the Board of Education in Brantford, and Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs at the Ridgetown College. She enjoyed being on the water - boating, fishing and cooking up a famous homemade dinner. Mom loved nature and living in the country feeding the birds and any other animals that would find themselves on the beautiful property they owned . Geraldine may be gone from this world; however, she lives on in the stories and memories she has left with all those she touched during her lifetime. Thank-you Mom for the laughs, the adventures and most of all the love you gave to those around you.
Cremation has taken place with a Private Interment to take place in Morpeth Cemetery in the spring.
Donations made in memory of Geraldine to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
