Obituary of Frieda Katharina Roth
Roth: Frieda Katharina (Schuster) -
A resident of Chatham, Frieda Roth passed away at the Riverview Gardens on December 13, 2023 at the age of 91.
Born in Kitchener, Frieda was the daughter of the late George and Katharina (née Emrich) Schuster. In 1948, she moved to the family farm in Dover Township. On that same summer, she met her husband John (1982) who she shared 32 years with.
Cherished mother of Monica Bailey (Brian) of Winnipeg, Erica Maunula (Tim) of Chatham and John Roth (Pamela) of Chatham.
Proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Matthew Bailey (2003), Andrew Bailey (Ainslie), Thomas Bailey (Jodi), John Maunula (Jenny), Katharine Maunula, Olivia Roth Duarte (Josh) and Sophia Roth (Amber).
Great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren, Isabella Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Grace Maunula, Joseph Maunula and twins June and Josephine Maunula.
Sister-in-law Maria Roth (late Mike).
Also missed by friends and extended family.
Frieda loved letter writing, knitting and crocheting and was an exceptional seamstress. She was very involved with Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild. Frieda will be remembered for her cooking and baking and everyone from the church will remember her apple squares.
Frieda always enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren from the sidelines as they participated in sports and piano recitals.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 2:00 - 4:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00am on Monday, December 18, 2023. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Frieda to the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
We should not mourn her passing but should rejoice that she is reunited with her husband John, we know, in a home more beautiful than any we have known.
