Obituary of Florent Joseph Laprise
Florent Laprise passed away peacefully on December 20, 2023 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 80.
He was the son of the late Treffle & Caroline (nee Roy) Laprise. Son-in-law of the late Charles & Irene (nee Lafreniere) Pinsonneault.
Lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Bernadette Laprise (nee Pinsonneault)
Father of the late Phyllis Laprise (1965), Moe Laprise (the late Yvette) (fiancée Sarah) & Andre (Vickie) Laprise.
Pepe of Matthew Laprise, Dominique Laprise (Brittany), Rebecca Laprise (Andrew), Patrick Laprise (Rachel), Kirsten VanGoethem (Jason), Kael VanGoethem, Scarlett VanGoethem, Chad Laprise (Emily), Amanda St. Pierre (Brian), & Andre James Laprise (Carrie).
Great-grandfather of Colton, Dutton, Faith, Kai, & Zac.
Brother of Caroline Laprise, Guy Laprise (Penny), Jean-Marie Laprise (Lucille), Colette Laprise (Mike Maynard). Predeceased by his brothers Gerard Laprise, Claude Laprise (Marie) and Roger Laprise.
Survived by sister-in-laws, Rose Laprise, & Aline Laprise.
Brother-in-law of Leda Peltier (the late Al & Fred), Norman Pinsonneault (Pat), the late Marcel Pinsonneault (Louise), Maurice Pinsonneault (Corrine), & Della Mailloux (Ernie).
Missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Florent was a lifelong farmer of Pain Court and a devoted member of Immaculee Conception Catholic Parish. He enjoyed working on his 1958 Impala and spending time with his grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Bernadette & Florent enjoyed their time traveling to Europe, Florida and day trips around the area. In his earlier years, he enjoyed skating. He was an avid hockey & Nascar fan and watching old cowboy movies. Florent will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Cremation has taken place with a Private Celebration of Life to take place at a later date.
In memory of Florent, donations may be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
