Obituary of Gordon New
New: Robert Allan Gordon -
It is with broken hearts the family of Gordon New announce his passing at the Copper Terrace Long Term Care Home with his family at his side on December 21, 2023 at the age of 84.
Born in Chatham, Gordon was the son of the late Robert and Margaret New.
Survived by adoring wife Jane of 62 years; son Jeffrey and his wife Shanna; daughter Jennifer New-Fortuna; grandchildren Emily and Mitchell Fortuna.
Brother-in-law to Peggy and Kenneth Stuart. Gordon will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sister Jean Bexton and her late husband David; brother-in-law Carl Glassford and his late wife Marilyn.
Gordon will be forever remembered by his family and friends for being a musician, trained singer, pilot (private and commercial), RC plane builder, operator and flight instructor and a Jack of all Trades. He loved his man toys and had them all, his favourite being his Harley Low Rider.
In keeping with Gordon's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A special thank-you is extended to the staff at Bayshore and Copper Terrace for the tremendous care given to Gordon.
