Obituary of Janet Padovan

PADOVAN: Janet Denise -
On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, the world lost an angel. After a long fight battling pneumonia, Janet Padovan (Tetreault) lost her life at the young age of 70. She was surrounded by her loving family, who will continue to honour her legacy.
Janet Padovan (Tetreault) was born in Chatham on May 5, 1953 to the late Hector and Aurora (Charron) Tetreault. Janet will be incredibly missed by her beloved husband Bruno of 43 years, her two daughters, Mandy (Tim Del Greco), and Renata (John Flancia), and her two beautiful granddaughters-Annabella and Sofia. She is also a dear sister to Yvonne (John Koncovy), Lucy (Jack Sontrop), and Anita (Bob).
Shortly after graduating from St. Clair College, Janet pursued a career as a medical secretary at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. After that she became a regional insurance adjuster for Crawford and Company.
Janet’s pride, apart from being a mom and wife, was being a Sunday School teacher. She devoted her life to the church and thoroughly enjoyed teaching the children at Blessed Sacrament, which she did for 20+ years. She also enjoyed traveling, spending weekends and summers at her cottage in Rondeau, going to the movies with friends, and shopping.
Janet will be forever remembered for her unwavering kindness, compassion, sincerity, and love for all people and animals.
Janet’s family would like to thank Dr. Maria, as well as the nurses and staff who took such great care of her at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Intensive Care Unit.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the McKinlay Funeral Home, on Friday, January 19, 2024 for visitation from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Janet’s funeral will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00a.m. A brief visitation will take place from 10-11am on Saturday, prior to the liturgy.
Donations can be made in memory of Janet to the Alzheimer Society, or any charity of your choice.
