LUCIO: John Wayne
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of John Wayne Lucio of Clearville, on January 15, 2024, at 61 years young.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Nancy Lucio (Eberle). He will be greatly missed by his daughters Coti (Chris) Hill, Christine (Michael) Gee, Sam (Chris) Willits and Hilary Lucio (Greg Shaw), his six grandchildren; Landen, Harley, Claire, Nick, Gabriel and Jake, and his siblings Rita (Rick) Jackson, David (Carolyn) Lucio and Andy (Josie) Lucio, his in-laws Jack and Marg Eberle and his sister-in-law Kat (Bill) Smith and their families.
John was an avid outdoorsman and storyteller. No matter the time of year, John could always be found outside. His love of the outdoors started early, camping and helping his parents in the fields. Whether he was fishing, hunting, chopping wood, teaching his grandkids the right way to swing a baseball bat, or just sitting in the front yard having a drink with friends, John loved having the sun on his skin and a breeze on his face.
His love and devotion to his family and friends was always evident but never more so than when he was reminiscing. You couldn’t sit with John for more than 5 minutes without a story coming to him, some of his favourites being about the trials of raising four girls. His daughters were one of his biggest points of pride and his stories about them were often punctuated with one of his favourite John-isms “they got their father’s looks and their mother’s brains”.
Although John was taken too soon, he will always be remembered for his outgoing personality. In keeping with John's wishes, cremation has taken place.
Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 76 Main St. E. Ridgetown on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 11 a.m. until the Celebration of John's life at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Highgate Legion branch #335, Four Counties Hospital or the London Health Sciences Regional Cancer Program would be appreciated by the family.
